Job Description
3-5 years of experience in Ruby on Rails
Development
We are looking for a talented, entrepreneurial,
and creative developer with significant
experience in Ruby on Rails framework.
Committed desire to work in a fast-paced
environment. Who can think through and design
end-to-end solutions at the application and
infrastructure levels.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide technical leadership to the
development team through coaching and
mentorship to
build applications using RoR.
- Identify and encourage areas for growth and
improvement within the team.
- Collaborate with other software developers,
business analysts and software architects to
plan, design, develop, test, and maintain
applications built in RoR technologies.
- Analyze and resolve technical and application
problems.
- Create low-level implementation specifications
and documentation
- Create estimates of development tasks
Skills
A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer
Science or Computer Engineering
3-5 years of experience in Ruby on Rails
Development
An understanding of Agile software development
principals such as Scrum, Continuous
Integration, and test-driven development
Familiarity with cloud-based technologies
Experience with Back End Development
Experience with Front End Development
Experience with Javascript and AJAX heavy web
application development
Knowledge of front-end frameworks (angularJS,
emberJS, knockoutJS, etc.) will be
preferred
Experience with advanced CSS and responsive
designs a plus.
Comfortable developing for our software stack,
which consists of Ruby/Ruby on Rails,
PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Heroku, Resque, Redis,
Git, Rspec, Unicorn & Nginx, Javascript
Experience with start-up companies or a start-
up environment is a plus
