The U.S. Embassy in Cairo is seeking an individual for the position of HR Assistant (US Services) in Human Resources Management Office
OPEN TO:

HR Assistant (US Services)- LES-7(1); FP-7(2)

WORK HOURS:
Full-time; 40 hours/week.
SALARY:
(1) Mission Policy is to hire LES employees at step 1 of the grade. The current
annual salary for an LES-7, step 1 is L.E. 70,709.
(2) Actual FP grade and salary will be determined by the US Department of State.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Employee is one of two Embassy positions handling American Human Resources policies and procedures for Direct Hire, TEMP/FMA and When Actually Employed employees. Drafts correspondence concerning American Personnel tours of duty, benefits, policy questions and implementation procedures. Incumbent has primary responsibility for managing all American personnel issues and providing the full range of services to American employees from the arrival of the employees to the departure of the employees. Assures computerized Personnel system is accurate and up to date; maintains and verifies statistics on the number of employees at the U.S. Mission. Responsible for the summer hire program, processing PSA PLUS Agreement and initiating JF-62A. Assists the Human Resources Officer responsible for the PLP program in preparing PLP schedules, BPA/IDIQ, and ILMS Billings. Backs up the Supervisory HR assistant in most of his/her assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

University studies in Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Accounting, Management, Commerce, Economics and Computer Science is required.


Four years of progressively responsible in the field of USG HR administration or HR administration in a multinational corporation.
Level IV (fluent) English and Arabic required.
SELECTION PROCESS

Best qualified displaced/RIFed employees will receive priority consideration if no US Citizens, family members or veterans apply.
When equally qualified, U.S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (AEFMs) and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA
Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
Currently employed U.S. Citizen EFMs who hold an FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
