Description —Manage a major gift portfolio of 125-150 active major gift prospects—Complete 130 prospect visits, write detailed and timely reports on each contact—Identify and cultivate major gifts prospects; recommend and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies of individual prospects, working with administration, faculty and volunteers as appropriate; meet with prospects and volunteers, travelling as necessary—Participate in all aspects of the gift cycle—Initiate contacts with potential leadership and major gift donors—Move potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation and closure—Make solicitations when appropriate—Maintain stewardship contacts with donors; adhere to the highest ethical standards; demonstrate empathetic disposition, and perseverance; reflect optimistic and positive attitude, and convey sensitivity to needs of the donors—Develop and maintain shared University funding priorities document to ensure fundraising strategies are aligned with the Universitys goals—Direct research requests and obtain information on key University alumni, parents, and friends to qualify interest and giving potential—Maintain knowledge of current tax laws, investments and planned giving opportunities; use knowledge in prospect cultivation and solicitation as appropriate—Cultivate and present proposals to corporate prospects as requested—Write or assist in drafting proposals, newsletters, brochures, and other materials as necessary
Qualifications Minimum education requirement: Bachelor’s degree, master’s preferred Experience: • Minimum of 8 years professional experience in fundraising, ideally at a university • Major gift acquisition experience
